Why do Community Service?

Are you looking for ways to get to know people in your community?
To connect with others and get involved in projects that change lives?
Then you’ve come to the right place. Kiwanis is all about making friends—and making an impact in your local community.

The Kiwanis Club of Benicia is a community service organization of caring men and women from all walks of life. Our objective is to bring aid to children in need, provide support and leadership to young people and give service to our community.

Are You Wondering How You Can Serve Your Community?

Kiwanis Club of Benicia invites you to join us!

Focused on Children and Service

Some of the Benicia club's involvement in youth and community service include:

Benicia's Annual Easter Egg Hunt

We look forward to celebrating the Benicia Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt’s 61th Anniversary on Sunday, April 9th!

Usually each year, on Easter Sunday, our club hosts the Benicia Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt in City Park on the corner of Military West and First Street. Rain or shine, this event brings in children from all over the Bay Area to enjoy games, face decoration, an Easter Bunny and of course the hunt itself. The event is free of charge to all that attend and annually brings smiles to the faces of the children between the ages of 2 to 8 years of age. As well, to the Kiwanis Club members and Key Club members there to run it.

The event begins at Noon and usually goes until about 2pm. Make sure to get there at Noon. Though we do separate hunts for each age group, we will speed up events on that day, if weather looks less than wonderfully sunny. So all publised time-lines are subject to change the day of the event.

Sponsor of BHS Key Club

Key Club assists Kiwanis in carrying out its mission. Key Clubbers learn leadership skills by running meetings, planning and conducting projects and holding elected leadership positions at the club, district and international levels.

AEDs in Schools Program

We have succeeded in placing Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs)  in Benicia High School, Liberty High School, Benicia Middle School, Joe Henderson Elementary, Matthew Turner Elementary, Mary Farmer Elementary and Robert Semple Elementary. We are committed to assure that AEDs are accessible in all schools in the Benicia Unified School District and that staff is prepared to save a life should an individual collapse in sudden cardiac arrest.

The projects we work on as a club reflect the interests and passions of our members. So if you have an idea that we can use to support the children of our town, bring it to us and find out how much more fun it is to follow your dreams with the support of others with you.

If you have an item that you believe the Benicia Kiwanis Club might be interested in supporting, please send us a Donation Request Letter and we'll be happy to review your request at our next Board Meeting and get back to you.
